DO I HAVE ANXIETY?



You're probably reading this title like "huh? why is she asking us?" but it's just that i've been having these really weird - i don't want to call them episodes, so lets just say moments - moments where something will happen, like for example, i would find out some news or something that's just really stressful will happen and everything just goes downhill from there. Let me give you a scenario that literally happened not even an hour ago so you have a mental vision of what i'm talking about. Today i was checking in on an issue that happened a while ago (via email), and as soon as i saw the email i starting panicking and my mind immediately went to the worst possible scenarios and literally all the things than can go wrong. I told my mum and she told me it's nothing and i shouldn't even be worried, but my mind was all over the place and i couldn't control it, i kept telling myself stop thinking about it, stop!! But it just wouldn't work and i kept getting extremely fidgety (my leg kept shaking uncontrollably), i couldn't sit still and i felt like throwing up. At one point i was on the verge of tears, no joke. The annoying thing about all this is that i couldn't stop thinking about it, it kept repeating over and over again in my head like a old broken tape - it was horrible. I thought walking around would make it better and calm me down, but the more i was alone with my thoughts the worse it got. Eventually, my mum gave me some cinnamon tea (i'm not really sure what is what aha) and i went to my room and watched youtube videos and wrote some blog posts until i got my mind off it.

I know you're thinking "well why don't you just go to the doctors and get yourself checked" but the thing is, it's almost 12AM right now and i didn't know what to do apart from writing about it. I tried to search for symptoms online but self diagnosis never goes well for me lol.

Another thing is, i hate going to the doctors and i'm not even sure if this is worth going to the doctors for, you know? Maybe i'm just overreacting and this isn't even a big deal. That's why i thought 'let me blog this and ask my readers first' :)

This is so much more personal than what i usually write about and it feels almost exposing, like i'm naked - emotionally, of-course. But hey, i did promise you raw and personal content so here it is!

HOW I EDIT MY PHOTOS / PHOTO EDITING APPS YOU SHOULD DOWNLOAD

Okay, so this has got to be the highest requested post. A lot of you have asked me how i edit my Instagram/blog photos and were curious as to what apps i use. So it is...

FACETUNE

1) Facetune - The first app i use is Facetune - before i start i should tell you now that this app is not free. I can't remember the exact amount but its roughly around £2.99.  The reason why i use this first is because i can whiten any section that i want to be cleaner. Also, facetune has a 'smooth' feature which is the best because you can smooth out any pimples, scarring and discolouration. Yes ladies, you can make your skin look and smooth as you want it to be. However, i would advise you to keep it as natural as you can or otherwise it'll just look extremely fake and we don't want that now, do we? To be honest, i only use the smooth feature if my skin is having a bad day.

AFTERLIGHT
2) Afterlight - Afterlight is a great editing app and even though i don't use it as often i use to (ever since i discovered VSCO) it can still come in handy when it comes to certain photos. There isn't much to say about this app because it's quite self explanatory - there are different filters and you can choose which one suits you best. It also has other features like brighten, contrast, saturation ect, but again, like i said it's self explanatory. :)

3) VSCO - Last, but definitely not least it's VSCO. This is by far my favourite photo editing apps.  This app allows you to Shoot & edit your images with superior mobile presets & advanced camera controls. It makes your photos looks 10x more professional and most importantly, it allows your Instagram to be aesthetically pleasing and who doesn't want that?? haha

CLEAR DESK, CLEAR MIND

I recently came across a bunch of articles stating that messy people are in fact, intelligent.  Yes, you heard right. IT'S ABOUT TIME WE (and i speak for all intelligent people) RECEIVED SOME RECOGNITION!! All those years of my mother coming into my room and yelling at me for being "messy" has finally been paid off. Let me just state that my room isn't actually as messy and you're probably thinking right now - don't let your imaginations run wild. It's just my mum is quite OCD and her version of "clean" is basically impossible to live up to. However, that doesn't excuse the fact that yes, you will find clutter and books spread across the floor occasionally. But according to the articles on BuzzFeed (and others) it states that i am actually creative - which is true - and surprisingly intelligent. :) TAKE THAT MUM! (haha)

However, as much as i appreciate my "creativity", i am a strong believer of sorting out your mess and cleaning your desk actually plays an important role towards your sanity. I have noticed that whenever i am stressed and have something on my mind, i find that cleaning my room does wonders and genuinely calms me down.

Let's take today for example, i was stressed about uni and thinking about my future options now that i'm in my last year. One second i was laying in bed staring at my ceiling, and the next second i find myself rummaging through my wardrobe and sorting out my vanity (view photos below). Now i have a clear desk, and a refreshed mind. It's a win win situation. You should try it :)

MAKEUP BY MAIISHA



Today was a special day. It was my first time EVER receiving a full makeover (i know, crazy right?).  I had the privilege of working with my good friend slash upcoming makeup artist Maiisha Sheikh, and let me just say that having your makeup professionally done by a friendly face is seriously the best thing ever! I was super comfortable and didn't have to worry about making anything awkward. I have heard horror stories about makeup artists not taking fact that the canvas in front of them is actually a HUMAN and not a plastic doll - luckily for me Maiisha had such a steady, soothing hand that i actually fell asleep at one point! She handled my face with delicate care with 10/10 focus and the end result did more than just impress me. I felt like i was in one of those Extreme Makeover shows, it was just all so sentimental, ha! 
Trusting someone to "play around" with my face wasn't easy at all because I remember one time heading into the Mac Store and asking for a foundation sample and i was given a foundation targeted for oily skin. I ended up breaking out like crazy and it put me off wearing foundation at all. Fortunately for me, Maiisha knew my face and worked accordingly to my skin type, which is more than i can ever ask.
Overall, it was a fun experience and i will most definitely be booking her for future events :)

Lotus Leaf Chinese Street Food, WESTFIELD STRATFORD

If you appreciate oriental food as much as i do, then you will like this place. Although nothing stood out in particular, in terms of uniqueness, all in all i did enjoy it. However, if i could change one thing it would be the portion - they serve too much on a plate and it ends up going to waste which is a real shame. There was no way i could finish my plate and felt SO guilty having to leave it behind.

Unlike me, if you have a strong stomach and can handle large amount of portions, then this is the right place for you.

HOW TO CLEAR UP YOUR SKIN WITH 3 NATURAL INGREDIENTS

I'm going to share with you how to clear up your skin just buy using 3 ingredients you can find in your fridge right now! 
Now, i'm not saying i have great or clean skin. By now you all now the struggles my skin has gone through aka (ACNE RECOVERY POST). But these 3 things have helped me a lot. Sometimes all the chemical based products we use on our face can be really damaging to the skin. Your skin needs to breath.

I should probably start by telling you that you do not use these items together! They are to be use separately.

1) LEMONS - You cut the lemon in 2 pieces and run it through cold water (just so it doesn't irritate your skin) and then apply directly onto your face. You move in circular motions, really slow and apply it all around your face - focusing on where you tend to break out a lot.
Lemons are very good for the skin, they remove scars, heals acne and exfoliates!

2) OLIVE OIL - You pour olive oil into a bowl and apply it directly to your face, rubbing in circular motion. You leave it for 2 hours and then rinse with warm water. I usually do this before i go to sleep. Yes, it might be kind of gross at first but trust me, it will leave your skin feeling super hydrated and smooth. Totally worth it.

3) NATURAL YOGURT - This is really simple and quite self explanatory. You pour 2 teaspoons of yogurt into a bowl and apply directly to your face. You leave it for 30 mins and rinse with warm water. Skin might feel weird at first, but if you apply moisturiser it will be fine.

Rossopomodoro, John Lewis Oxford Street

This week's review is a secret Pizzeria place in Oxford Street that i visited with my best friend (shoutout to Jemima!!). I have been to my fair share of pizza joints but this, this has to be the best one yet. 
So it started off with me and Jemima being REALLY hungry from circling busy oxford street and we couldn't find a place to eat. We ended up asking a stranger at the bus stop if there are any pizza places near and the kind lady suggested Rossopomodoro inside John Lewis. At first we were just like "meh, whatever" about it but the once we were served our Mocktails, i knew our taste buds were in for a ride! haha. Seriously, everything about it was perfect. The lights were deemed, candles were set around each table, and the view, ah the view was beautiful. It was all just so picturesque.

If you happen to be around Oxford Street and you want to enjoy some quite time whilst you eat delicious pizza, you know where to find Rossopomodoro. Trust, you'll thank me later :)

20 FACTS ABOUT ME

I've been tagged by 2 of my friends and i'm not gonna lie, it took me so long to find 20 facts about myself. You should know, i hate talking about myself because i NEVER know what to say. But since i've just launched my blog, what better way is there for you to get to know me better? Think of this as an introduction :)

  3. Although i love spending time with family/friends, I've always preferred my own company more than others.
  4. I have been self studying Korean for almost 2 years now (it's not easy!!)
  5. People often tell me that my honesty comes across as intimidating, but i don't mean to. i promise.
  6. I have the worst possible appetite known to mankind haha
  7. I don't eat meat. Haven't eaten meat in about 12+ years.
  8. I really enjoy blogging but i never know how to balance my time
  9. Once i get hooked on a show, it consumes me. 
  10. I don't like crowds.
  11. I obsess over fictional characters...sometimes
  12. I am obsessed with all things crime. my dream would to crack a huge case!
  13. I get along with almost everyone, but at the same time i'm socially awkward.
